PTI Founder Imran Khan’s Eye Health Shows Improvement, Medical Report Confirms

Islamabad, February 16, 2026 – A recent medical report has provided an update on the eye health of PTI founder, Imran Khan. The report, based on a medical board examination conducted on February 15, 2026, details improvements in his vision and ongoing treatment.

The medical board assessed Imran Khan at Adiala Jail and later briefed PTI leaders Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Raja Nasir Abbas at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) between 9:00 pm and 10:20 pm. Personal physicians Dr. Asim Yusuf and Dr. Khurram Mirza were also consulted via phone for over 25 minutes. Party leaders and doctors expressed satisfaction with the current treatment plan.

Compiled by Prof. Nadeem Qureshi of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital and signed by Prof. Arif Khan of PIMS, the report showed partial unaided visual acuity of 6/24 in the right eye and 6/9 in the left. Corrective lenses improved vision to 6/9 and 6/6, respectively. Examination revealed redness, dilated vessels, and four to five cotton-wool spots in the right eye. Swelling has begun to subside, and vision has improved from 6/36 to 6/9. The left eye remains healthy with normal vision.

The report recommends continued use of prescribed eye drops, including Nevanac, Cosopt, and Systane Ultra. A second anti-VEGF injection may be administered if needed, with additional tests like OCT angiography advised after completing therapy.

Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar confirmed that the PTI founder currently has 70% vision in one eye with eyeglasses, while the other eye maintains 6/6 vision. “There is nothing to worry about,” he said, emphasizing that medical updates have been shared with opposition leaders and Imran Khan’s personal doctors.
