Punjab Government Announces Revised Office Timings for Ramadan

Lahore, February 18, 2026 – The Punjab government has announced revised office timings for the holy month of Ramadan to help employees manage work and fasting efficiently.

According to the official notification, all provincial departments operating five days a week will follow new working hours from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, during Ramadan. This adjustment aims to provide employees with sufficient time for Sehri and Iftar, ensuring a balance between professional and religious obligations.

Departments that operate six days a week will observe office hours from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, as per the notification. This change also applies to various subordinate offices and administrative units across the province.

Officials emphasized that these revised timings are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to accommodate the needs of staff during Ramadan. They encouraged departments to strictly adhere to the new schedule and ensure smooth functioning of all essential services.

“The revised office hours will allow employees to maintain their energy for work while observing the fast during Ramadan,” the notification stated. Government authorities also requested that meetings and official activities be scheduled within these hours to avoid conflicts with prayer and fasting routines.

This decision aligns with previous years, when the Punjab government issued similar office timing adjustments during Ramadan. Many other provinces have also adopted comparable schedules to facilitate employees during the holy month.

Citizens are advised that emergency services and essential departments will continue to operate as usual, ensuring uninterrupted public service during Ramadan. Employees are reminded to plan their work accordingly and cooperate with management to maintain productivity within the revised hours.
