A young girl from North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has captured national attention with a viral bowling video showcasing her cricketing skills. The clip, widely shared on social media platform X, impressed cricket fans and officials alike.
The girl, identified as Aina Wazir from Tehsil Shewa, was seen bowling during a local children’s cricket match. The bowling video was shared by social media user Badshah Pashteen, who highlighted Aina’s background, noting that she is the daughter of the late Shaheed Umar Gul. He also mentioned that she belongs to Shewa Shaga Zalol Khel in North Waziristan.
In the shared post, Badshah Pashteen explained that the video comes from a children’s tournament where Aina leads her own team. He emphasized that while there is abundant talent among local children, opportunities remain limited due to the region’s circumstances.
Reacting to the viral bowling video, Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi praised Aina’s talent. “Mashallah! Aina Wazir is an extraordinarily talented player. Such talent truly deserves the right platform,” he said. Following the video, Afridi included Aina in the Peshawar Zalmi League, providing her with an opportunity to showcase her skills on a larger stage.
