The federal government has announced plans to produce a historic Web Series on Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal to reconnect young generations with Pakistan’s founding vision.
The project aims to highlight their struggles, leadership, and ideological contributions in an engaging digital format.
Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal shared details after meeting media leaders and producers to discuss the development of a high-quality historical series based on accurate research and strong storytelling.
He said the Web Series is linked to the 150th birth anniversaries of both leaders and is designed to educate youth about constitutional values and national principles.
Officials believe purposeful storytelling plays a key role in nation building and strengthening national identity. The Web Series will project Pakistan’s narrative on the global stage while promoting cultural diplomacy and digital outreach.
The government has committed initial support for high-standard productions and plans to organize a special workshop for writers and creative teams to deepen their understanding of Jinnah’s constitutional struggle and Iqbal’s intellectual vision.
Authorities also encouraged the growth of local OTT platforms to support wider distribution of meaningful content.
The government has announced seed funding of up to Rs500 million for projects that meet international standards. Priority will be given to research-based and authentic productions that reflect Pakistan’s historical heritage.
