Pakistan’s military has confirmed the loss of 12 soldiers during intense fighting following cross-border aggression from Afghanistan. The information was shared by the Directorate General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to officials, 27 soldiers were also injured during the clashes. One soldier is still missing after the battle. Authorities described the response as a series of counter Operations aimed at stopping militant threats.
Military sources said the armed forces launched the Operations after receiving intelligence about hostile activities across the border. The strikes targeted several locations believed to be linked with militant groups.
Officials stated that Pakistani forces carried out precise attacks on 22 important sites. These locations were spread across several Afghan provinces, including Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, Nangarhar, Khost, and Paktika.
Security officials explained that the selected sites included command centers and logistics hubs. These places were reportedly used by Taliban fighters and other militant networks. Some locations were also believed to store weapons and ammunition.
The military said the Operations were carefully planned to avoid harm to civilians. Precision targeting was used to limit damage outside the intended sites.
According to the ISPR chief, Pakistani forces also captured at least 18 enemy positions during the fighting. These gains were described as an important development in the ongoing security situation.
Reports further claim that militant capabilities suffered heavy losses. More than 115 tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery systems were reportedly destroyed during the clashes.
Officials said the military action was part of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq. Pakistan described the move as a necessary response to coordinated attacks from across the border.
Authorities stressed that the purpose of the Operations was to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty and ensure the safety of its citizens. Military officials also praised the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers involved in the fighting.
Despite the success of the mission, tensions between the two sides remain high. Security analysts believe the situation could lead to further escalation if cross-border attacks continue.
