UAE Intercepts Majority of Iranian Missiles and Drones During Large-Scale Attack

ABU DHABI โ€“ The UAE announced that it intercepted most of the missiles and drones launched by Iran during a large-scale attack. Officials said the countryโ€™s air defence systems prevented major destruction.

According to a spokesperson for the UAE Ministry of Defence, Iran fired 186 missiles toward the UAE. Out of these, 172 missiles were successfully intercepted. Thirteen missiles fell into the sea. Only one missile landed inside UAE territory.

Authorities also reported a major drone threat. A total of 812 Iranian drones were detected during the attack. Defence forces destroyed 755 of them before they could reach key targets.

Despite the strong defence response, the attack caused casualties. Officials confirmed that three people were killed. At least 68 others were injured. Some civilian areas also suffered property damage.

The UAE government has now stepped up emergency response measures. Officials said the country has enough defensive stockpiles to counter further missile and drone threats. They added that defence forces remain on high alert.

The defence ministry described the interceptions as proof of strong military readiness. Aerial threats like missiles and drones are usually difficult to stop. However, officials said the successful operation shows the effectiveness of the UAEโ€™s defence systems.

During a press briefing, authorities displayed debris from intercepted missiles. They presented the wreckage as evidence of the defensive action taken by the armed forces.

Officials stressed that the UAE will not compromise on its sovereignty. They said the country will continue to defend its territory against any aggression.

At the same time, the government called for calm in the region. The defence ministry stated that the UAE does not seek to expand the conflict. It emphasized that military action is not a long-term solution.

The spokesperson said dialogue and diplomacy remain the best ways to resolve disputes. Authorities urged all sides to avoid further escalation.
