SHANGHAI: Alibaba has unveiled a new artificial intelligence platform called Wukong, aimed at transforming enterprise workflows in Chinaโs fast-growing AI market. The launch positions Alibaba at the forefront of automation solutions for businesses.
The Alibaba Wukong platform allows multiple AI agents to work together on complex tasks. Functions include document editing, spreadsheet updates, meeting transcription, and research, all through a single interface. The system is currently open for invitation-only beta testing.
This announcement follows Alibabaโs reorganization under the new Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) business group, showing a major strategic focus on enterprise AI agents. Wukong is the flagship product of the Wukong Business Unit within ATH.
Users can access Wukong as a standalone desktop app or through DingTalk, Alibabaโs corporate collaboration platform, which serves over 20 million business users. The platform will also integrate with messaging services such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and WeChat, broadening its usability.
The launch comes amid the OpenClaw craze, an open-source AI agent tool that has recently captured significant attention in Chinaโs tech sector. Alibabaโs entry into this space underscores the intensifying competition in AI agent offerings.
Other major Chinese tech firms are also expanding into AI agents. ByteDance, Tencent, and AI startup Zhipu have all released similar products, highlighting the sectorโs rapid growth. However, authorities have cautioned companies to consider security risks when deploying AI agents.
Alibabaโs Wukong aims to simplify enterprise tasks and increase productivity through AI-driven automation. Analysts note that the platform could strengthen Alibabaโs position in Chinaโs corporate software market, particularly in the field of collaborative AI tools.
With Wukong, Alibaba is leveraging its technology ecosystem to meet growing demand for smart enterprise solutions. The platform represents a strategic push to integrate AI more deeply into corporate workflows, enhancing efficiency while maintaining scalability.
