Pakistan International Airlines has announced a temporary halt to flights to Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates. The decision comes due to the current security situation in Gulf countries. The airline said the suspension will remain in place for 48 hours.
According to officials, these PIA issues are linked to rising tensions in the region. As a result, flight operations to Fujairah have been stopped completely. However, flights to other UAE destinations will continue with limited changes. For now, operations are only active to Al Ain.
The latest PIA issues are part of a wider disruption in air travel across Pakistan. In a single day, 83 flights to Middle Eastern countries were cancelled. This has affected thousands of passengers across major cities.
Flights to Fujairah from Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar were fully suspended. All eight scheduled flights on these routes were cancelled. Authorities confirmed that no flights are currently operating to Fujairah from these cities.
Karachi also faced major disruptions. A total of 18 flights to cities like Doha, Bahrain, Baghdad, Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi were cancelled. Similarly, Lahore saw another 18 cancellations to destinations including Kuwait, Sharjah, Doha, Bahrain, and Dubai.
Islamabad recorded 26 cancelled flights, while Peshawar had 11 cancellations. Sialkot and Multan also reported disruptions, with six and four flights cancelled respectively. These PIA issues reflect the growing impact of regional instability on travel operations.
Despite the widespread cancellations, some routes remained active. All nine scheduled flights from Faisalabad to Jeddah, Dubai, Sharjah, and Madinah continued without interruption. Officials said efforts are being made to manage operations where possible.
Authorities also shared that the ongoing Iran conflict has entered its 19th day. During this period, a total of 2,146 flights have been cancelled across Pakistan. This highlights the scale of disruption caused by the situation.
