Iran Allows US Naval Vessels Passage Through Strait of Hormuz Under Conditions

Tehran โ€” Iranian officials have confirmed new guidance regarding movement through the Strait of Hormuz. Authorities stated that Iran allows US naval vessels to pass through the strategic waterway under specific conditions.

Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh said that Iran allows US ships access to the route as long as they avoid any hostile activity. He added that the passage remains open for navigation under monitored and secure conditions.

Officials explained that vessels must maintain communication with Iranian maritime forces. This is required to ensure safe passage and manage technical and security needs in the region. The aim is to reduce risks in the busy shipping lane.

Khatibzadeh also said that Iran will ensure the safety of all ships moving through designated secure corridors. He emphasized that coordination is necessary to prevent misunderstandings at sea.

The statement comes at a time of rising political tension. US President Donald Trump has recently accused Iran of not following agreed rules related to oil transit through the Strait of Hormuz. This has increased global attention on the waterway.

Despite tensions, Iranian authorities reiterated that Iran allows US naval movement if regulations are followed. They stressed that international shipping is still permitted, but must comply with maritime protocols.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also issued separate guidance. It advised all vessels to follow strict safety rules while passing through the strait. Ships were also asked to consider alternative routes to avoid potential dangers, including naval mines.

The IRGC shared a navigation map outlining recommended routes. Ships entering from the Sea of Oman can pass north of Larak Island into the Persian Gulf. Outbound vessels are advised to use a southern route around the island.

Experts warn that continued tensions in the region could impact global energy markets. The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the most important oil transit routes in the world.
