US and Iran Talks Collapse After 21 Hours of Intense Negotiations in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD – High-level talks between the US and Iran have collapsed after nearly 21 hours of closed-door discussions. The negotiations aimed to reduce tensions but ended without any agreement.

US Vice President JD Vance addressed the media after the talks. He said Washington had clearly defined its “red lines” from the beginning. According to him, some areas were open to compromise, while others were not.

Vance stated that Iran refused to accept the proposed terms. He confirmed that the US and Iran could not reach common ground despite detailed discussions. The talks included several proposals, but no breakthrough was achieved.

When asked about specific points, Vance did not reveal full details. He said the discussions were sensitive and held behind closed doors. However, he highlighted the main concern of the United States.

The US demand focused on strong assurances from Iran. Washington wants Iran to guarantee that it will not develop nuclear weapons. It also wants Iran to avoid acquiring equipment for nuclear capability.

Vance stressed that preventing nuclear weapons remains a key goal for the United States. He said diplomacy was used to achieve this objective with the US and Iran engaging in direct talks.

He also claimed that Iran’s current uranium enrichment capability has already been destroyed. However, he raised concerns about Iran’s future intentions. He said there was no clear sign that Iran would fully abandon nuclear ambitions.

The failure of these talks highlights rising tensions. The gap between the US and Iran remains wide on key issues. Washington continues to stand firm on its demands, calling them non-negotiable.

On the other hand, Iran has not agreed to permanent limits on its nuclear program. This disagreement played a major role in the collapse of the negotiations.

The breakdown of talks has created uncertainty about future diplomacy. Analysts warn that tensions could increase if no progress is made.
