The Pakistan national cricket team is set to begin preparations for its upcoming Test series against Bangladesh with a training camp in Karachi starting from April 29.
Players are expected to assemble in the city as part of the build-up to the two-match red-ball series, which falls under the ICC World Test Championship 2025โ27 cycle.
The team is scheduled to depart for Bangladesh on the night of May 3, ahead of a series that is tentatively set to begin on May 8, with the second Test planned for May 16.
However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has not yet finalized or officially confirmed the venues for the series, leaving some details pending.
As preparations intensify, selectors are in the final stages of squad discussions, with several changes expected in both the playing group and management setup.
Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is reportedly part of discussions and may take on head coach responsibilities for the Bangladesh series.
Wicketkeeper Rohail Nazir is also being considered for selection as the management evaluates options for the upcoming tour.
Pakistan last played Test cricket against South Africa in October last year, where the series ended in a 1โ1 draw, meaning the side enters this series without recent red-ball match practice.
Meanwhile, a separate red-ball training camp involving 18 players is already underway and will continue until April 20 as part of long-term planning.
Looking ahead, Pakistanโs Test calendar remains busy, with upcoming series against England, West Indies, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand scheduled through 2027.
