ISLAMABAD โ Fazeela Abbasi secured an extension in her interim pre-arrest bail on Monday. The case relates to the alleged operation of an illegal clinic.
The decision was announced by Humayun Dilawar during a court hearing. The judge allowed Fazeela Abbasi to retain her interim bail and directed her to cooperate with investigators.
During the proceedings, Fazeela Abbasi appeared before the court along with her legal counsel, Naeem Bukhari. She filed a request for pre-arrest bail, which was accepted by the court. The bail was granted against surety bonds worth Rs50,000.
The court also instructed her to join the ongoing investigation. The hearing was later adjourned until May 5 for further proceedings.
According to officials, the Federal Investigation Agency has registered two cases against Fazeela Abbasi. These cases are linked to allegations of running an illegal clinic.
In addition to this case, Fazeela Abbasi is also on bail in a separate money laundering matter. Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had restored her interim bail in that case. The court directed her to approach the trial court for further legal steps.
The recent development follows an earlier setback. A special court had dismissed her pre-arrest bail plea due to her absence during a hearing. The judge had noted that she failed to appear despite the case being scheduled.
The court also rejected her request for exemption on medical grounds. It stated that such requests should not be misused in pre-arrest bail cases.
After the dismissal, Fazeela Abbasi approached the Islamabad High Court. The court then granted her temporary relief and allowed her to seek remedy from the trial court.
