No More Load Shedding in Pakistan as LNG Shipment Arrives, Says Energy Minister

Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari has announced a major relief for citizens, stating that Load Shedding in Pakistan has come to an end following the arrival of a new LNG shipment. The statement has raised hopes for improved electricity supply across the country.

According to the minister, the country recently faced limited and temporary Load Shedding due to a shortage of gas. He clarified that the situation was not caused by any system failure or lack of electricity generation capacity. Instead, the issue emerged because fuel required for power generation was not available at the time.

The minister explained that disruptions in gas supply were linked to the impact of the Iran–US conflict. This situation affected the availability of fuel needed for electricity production. As a result, some areas experienced short-term power interruptions.

However, he emphasized that the government took timely and responsible steps to manage the situation. Measures were implemented to protect citizens from expensive electricity generation options. Authorities avoided passing additional financial burden on consumers during the shortage.

The arrival of the LNG shipment has now improved fuel availability for power plants. This development has helped restore normal electricity generation levels. Officials believe this will prevent further Load Shedding in the near future.

In addition, the minister highlighted that hydropower generation has increased significantly. This has played a key role in stabilizing the energy supply. The combination of LNG availability and improved hydropower output has strengthened the overall system.

The government has also worked to enhance coordination among energy departments. These efforts aim to ensure smooth operations and prevent similar issues in the future. Officials are focused on maintaining a stable and reliable power supply.

The minister’s statement has attracted public attention, especially due to the claim that routine Load Shedding has now been completely eliminated. While some experts remain cautious, the announcement signals confidence from authorities.
