Pakistan has strongly rejected a report published by a US-based media outlet regarding the presence of Iranian Aircraft at the Nur Khan airbase in Rawalpindi. The Foreign Office described the report as “misleading and sensationalised” and said the claims were based on speculation rather than facts.
In an official statement, the Foreign Office said Pakistan completely rejects the narrative suggesting that the Iranian Aircraft parked in the country are linked to any military activity or secret arrangement. Officials stated that the aircraft arrived in Pakistan during the ceasefire period as part of diplomatic and logistical operations connected to ongoing regional talks.
According to the statement, aircraft from both Iran and the United States landed in Pakistan after the ceasefire and during the first phase of the Islamabad Talks. These flights were used to transport diplomatic staff, security personnel, and administrative teams involved in the dialogue process.
The Foreign Office explained that after the initial round of talks ended, some aircraft and support teams remained in Pakistan temporarily. Officials said this was done in anticipation of future diplomatic engagements and possible follow-up meetings.
The statement also referred to recent visits by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Islamabad. It said these visits were managed through existing logistical arrangements already in place for diplomatic coordination.
Pakistan clarified that the Iranian Aircraft currently stationed in the country have no connection to military preparations or emergency operations. The Foreign Office stressed that reports suggesting otherwise were inaccurate and detached from the real situation.
Officials further said Pakistan has continued to play a balanced and responsible role in promoting dialogue and reducing tensions in the region. The country has provided routine logistical support whenever needed while maintaining transparency with all relevant parties.
The Foreign Office added that Pakistan remains committed to supporting peaceful diplomatic efforts. It emphasized the importance of dialogue, regional stability, and international cooperation during sensitive situations.
