The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan has launched the second series of Pakistan Higher Education Expos. These events aim to promote higher education opportunities for Bangladeshi students. The initiative is part of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor.
The expos highlight strong academic links between both countries. They also promote access to quality higher education in Pakistan. Twenty leading Pakistani universities are participating in this series.
The first exhibition of the series was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. More events will follow in several cities. These include Barishal, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Chittagong, and Rangpur. The full series will continue over the next ten days.
Focus on Academic Cooperation and Opportunities
The goal of these expos is to strengthen academic exchange. They also aim to support research collaboration between institutions. This effort is designed to build stronger educational ties under the Knowledge Corridor.
Officials stated that the initiative promotes long-term cooperation. It also improves student mobility and academic partnerships.
The Education Expo in Dhaka was inaugurated by Bangladeshโs Minister for Education, Dr. A. N. M. Ehsanul Hoque Milon. Several key officials also attended the event. These included Pakistanโs High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Mr. Imran Haider, and HEC representatives.
Strengthening Higher Education Links
Speaking at the event, Dr. Ehsanul Hoque Milon praised the efforts behind the program. He said the initiative supports stronger educational relations. He also encouraged students to apply for scholarships offered under the program.
He highlighted that such initiatives improve people-to-people connections. They also create better understanding between both nations.
Mr. Imran Haider also spoke about Pakistanโs progress in Higher Education. He mentioned key fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Aviation. He said these areas offer strong academic and career opportunities.
He further explained that the expos will promote research partnerships. They will also support joint academic programs and student exchanges.
Scholarships and Student Opportunities
Ms. Aayesha Ikram presented details of the Knowledge Corridor program. She explained the benefits of Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships. These scholarships support Bangladeshi students in pursuing Higher Education in Pakistan.
She reaffirmed HECโs commitment to academic cooperation. This includes scholarships, exchange programs, and institutional collaboration.
Under this initiative, 500 fully funded scholarships are offered. These allow students to study at top Pakistani universities. The government also aims to provide training opportunities for Bangladeshi civil servants.
Growing Educational Cooperation
Earlier, HEC successfully organized the first series of expos in 2025. The program continues to expand its reach and impact.
So far, 74 Bangladeshi students have already started their Higher Education in Pakistan. They are enrolled in fields like Engineering, Medical Sciences, Computer Science, Cyber Security, and Biological Sciences.
