City Traffic Police Rawalpindi has issued a detailed Traffic Plan for Eid-ul-Azha cattle markets across the district. The plan aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and public convenience.
Officials said the Traffic Plan has been prepared to manage heavy rush around cattle markets. It will help prevent congestion during Eid shopping days.
According to a CTP spokesperson, eight cattle markets have been set up across Rawalpindi district. Two markets are located in the city, while six are in different tehsils.
To implement the Traffic Plan, more than 81 traffic officers have been deployed. Their duty is to manage traffic movement and assist citizens.
Four lifter vehicles have also been assigned. These will remove illegally parked vehicles from key roads and market areas.
In Rawalpindi city, cattle markets are established at Bhata Chowk and Mouza Raniyal. These locations are expected to attract large crowds during Eid season.
In Gujar Khan, markets have been set up on Gulyana Road near the slaughterhouse. Another market is located near Rawat Police Station.
In Taxila, cattle markets are operating at HIT Timber Market and near Sharif Hospital on GT Road. Additional sites include Bypass Chowk in Kallar Syedan and Sakhi Sabzwari Tangi Road in Kahuta.
Chief Traffic Officer Farhan Aslam said the Traffic Plan ensures easy access for citizens visiting cattle markets. He added that smooth traffic flow is a top priority.
He further stated that parking on main roads will not be allowed under any circumstances. Strict action will be taken against violations.
The CTO also said public awareness messages are being shared through loudspeakers. These messages guide citizens about parking rules and traffic routes.
He added that more staff will be deployed if crowd pressure increases. The traffic system will be strengthened during peak shopping hours.
Authorities urged citizens to follow the Traffic Plan and cooperate with traffic police. They said public support is essential for smooth Eid arrangements.
Officials believe the Traffic Plan will reduce traffic jams and improve safety. It will also help citizens travel easily to cattle markets during Eid-ul-Azha.
