Bata Pakistan has approved a major restructuring plan to consolidate its manufacturing operations in Lahore. The decision aims to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
According to a disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, Bata will combine production activities from two separate factories into one integrated manufacturing facility.
The company said production currently taking place at the Batapur Factory on GT Road and the Maraka Factory on Multan Road will be shifted to the Batapur site. The consolidation is part of Bataโs broader strategy to streamline operations.
Officials stated that the move follows Bata Globalโs international manufacturing optimization plan. The strategy focuses on lean manufacturing practices and improving productivity across production facilities worldwide.
Bata explained that the consolidation is expected to increase operational efficiency and improve resource utilization. The company also aims to achieve economies of scale through centralized production.
Management believes the restructuring will support long-term business growth. It is also expected to strengthen Bataโs position in export markets in the future.
According to the company, the transition process will begin on June 1, 2026. The consolidation is expected to be completed by July 15, 2026, subject to regulatory and operational approvals.
Bata said the transfer of production activities from the Maraka facility will take place gradually in different phases. The company expects the process to continue without major disruption.
Officials assured shareholders that customer deliveries and supply commitments would remain unaffected during the transition period. Bata stated that production activities would continue smoothly throughout the restructuring process.
The company also highlighted the expected financial benefits of the move. Management said the consolidation would create operational synergies and support long-term cost efficiency.
Bata further stated that employees affected by the restructuring would be managed according to company policies and labor laws. The company emphasized that worker-related matters would be handled responsibly.
