Lahore Bans Loader and Qingqi Rickshaws on Major Roads to Improve Traffic Flow

The Lahore Traffic Police has introduced new restrictions on key city roads. Under the decision, Lahore Bans loader rickshaws and Qingqi rickshaws from entering major routes, especially Canal Road.

Officials say the step has been taken to improve traffic flow and ensure public safety. The restriction applies to all model roads across the city. Canal Road is the main focus of enforcement.

According to the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, loader rickshaws were temporarily allowed during Eid ul Azha. This was done to help transport sacrificial animals. However, that relaxation has now ended.

With the new order, Lahore Bans all types of loader and Qingqi rickshaws from these routes starting immediately. Traffic police have increased deployment to ensure strict implementation of the rule.

Authorities stated that special checkpoints have been set up on key entry points. These include Dharampura, Mughalpura, and Thokar Niaz Baig. Officers will monitor vehicles and take immediate action against violators.

The CTO also issued strict instructions regarding unsafe transportation practices. He directed that legal cases should be registered against those carrying steel bars, T-irons, and iron rods on Canal Road.

Officials said such items pose a serious risk to public safety. Therefore, enforcement will be strict under the new policy. In this way, Lahore Bans dangerous transport activities on major routes to reduce accidents.

Traffic police have also launched a crackdown against auto-rickshaws carrying excess passengers. These actions aim to reduce overcrowding and improve road discipline.

Additional traffic staff has been deployed across major intersections. Their role is to ensure smooth traffic movement and prevent congestion during peak hours.

Authorities said the main goal is to reduce accidents and improve commuting conditions. The enforcement teams will continue monitoring violations on a daily basis.

The traffic police believe these steps will help improve road safety in Lahore. They also expect better traffic management across major routes in the coming weeks.

Officials have urged citizens to follow traffic rules and cooperate with enforcement teams. They warned that violations will lead to fines and legal action.
