KARACHI: A shocking robbery incident took place in Dastagir No. 9, Karachi, during Eid celebrations. Armed Robbers targeted a family and carried out a major house heist, police said.
According to reports, the Robbers entered the house by pretending they were asking for sacrificial meat. The incident occurred on the second day of Eid al-Adha when the family was busy with animal sacrifice activities.
Police said the suspects quickly turned violent after entering the home. The Robbers held the family members and workers at gunpoint inside the house.
The family stated in the FIR that they were busy in their garage when the doorbell rang. A housemaid opened the door, allowing the suspects to enter the premises.
Once inside, the Robbers forced everyone to stay silent and controlled the situation at gunpoint. They also forced the butchers working at the house to move inside and join the hostages.
After taking control, the suspects searched the house. The Robbers broke into a wardrobe and stole cash and valuable items.
The stolen goods included 15,000 US dollars, a large amount of Pakistani currency, and 17 to 18 tolas of gold. The suspects then escaped from the scene.
Police confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at Joharabad police station. Investigations have been launched to identify and arrest the suspects.
CCTV footage from the area has also surfaced. It shows multiple suspects fleeing after the robbery. Two Robbers can be seen standing outside the house to provide security during the crime.
Officials said a total of eight Robbers were involved in the incident. Six entered the house and carried out the robbery, while two remained outside as lookouts.
Police are reviewing surveillance footage and gathering evidence from the scene. Authorities have assured that efforts are underway to arrest the suspects soon.
The incident has raised concerns about security during festive days. Residents have urged authorities to increase patrols in residential areas.
