Saudi Arabia has begun distributing 1.9 million copies of the holy quran and its translations to Hajj pilgrims returning home after completing their pilgrimage. The initiative is being carried out as a special gift from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The distribution campaign is taking place at major airports, seaports, and land border crossings across the Kingdom. Pilgrims from around the world are receiving copies of the holy quran as they depart Saudi Arabia following the completion of Hajj.
According to Saudi authorities, the copies have been printed in more than 80 languages. The translations are intended to help Muslims from different countries better understand the teachings and message of the holy quran in their native languages.
The project has been organized to ensure that pilgrims leave with a meaningful remembrance of their spiritual journey. Officials said the initiative reflects Saudi Arabiaโs continued commitment to serving Islam and supporting Muslims worldwide.
Every year, millions of pilgrims travel to the Kingdom to perform Hajj. As they return to their home countries, many take with them religious materials and memories from the sacred pilgrimage. The distribution of the holy quran is considered one of the most significant gifts provided to pilgrims after completing the religious obligation.
Saudi authorities have made extensive arrangements to ensure the smooth distribution of the copies at departure points. Staff members have been deployed at transportation hubs to assist pilgrims and manage the process efficiently.
The translated editions cover a wide range of global languages, allowing pilgrims from different regions to benefit from the initiative. Officials noted that the effort aims to promote greater understanding of Islamic teachings and make religious knowledge more accessible.
The program is part of Saudi Arabiaโs broader efforts to enhance services for Hajj pilgrims. In recent years, the Kingdom has introduced several initiatives focused on improving the pilgrimage experience through better facilities, digital services, and educational resources.
