Punjab Govt Launches Major Shift to Paperless Government System Across Province

The Punjab Govt has announced a major step toward digital governance by making all government offices across the province fully paperless. The decision aims to improve efficiency and promote e-governance.

The announcement was made during a Secretariesโ€™ Conference held at the Civil Secretariat. The meeting was chaired by the Chief Secretary Punjab. Senior officials attended in person, while commissioners and deputy commissioners joined through video link.

During the meeting, the Punjab Govt directed all district-level offices to fully adopt the e-filing system known as e-Faas. This system will ensure that all official communication is handled digitally.

Officials confirmed that from July 1, all field offices will be required to shift completely to the e-Faas platform. The Punjab Govt believes this move will reduce delays in official work and improve transparency.

The conference also reviewed ongoing IT reforms and digital transformation projects across the province. Officials highlighted the efforts of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). The board has played a key role in modernizing government systems.

According to government representatives, the paperless system will help reduce the use of physical documents. It will also make administrative processes faster and more efficient. The Punjab Govt expects better coordination between departments through this digital system.

Authorities said the transition is part of a wider strategy to improve public service delivery. The shift to digital systems is also expected to increase accountability in government operations.

The meeting also appreciated the province-wide cleanliness campaign carried out during Eid al-Adha. Officials described it as a successful administrative operation managed across Punjab.

Government sources stated that these reforms reflect the Punjab Govt commitment to modern governance. The aim is to build a more transparent and technology-driven administrative structure.

Officials added that the digital transition will continue in phases. More departments are expected to be integrated into the e-governance system in the coming months.
