The All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) has called for a substantial increase in salaries and allowances for Govt Staff ahead of the Federal Budget 2026-27. The association says rising inflation and higher living costs have made it difficult for employees to manage household expenses.
APCA has submitted a six-point charter of demands to the government. The organization is seeking a 200 percent increase in salaries for Govt Staff and a 500 percent increase in house rent, medical, and other allowances.
According to APCA leaders, current salary packages no longer reflect the economic realities faced by public employees. They argue that inflation has significantly reduced purchasing power, creating financial challenges for workers and their families.
The association has also demanded a major revision of employee benefits. APCA believes that existing allowances are outdated and do not match the current cost of living.
In addition to salary-related demands, APCA has urged the government to reconsider plans for the privatization of public-sector institutions. The association maintains that such measures could negatively affect employees and public services.
Representatives of Govt Staff say many workers are struggling to meet daily expenses due to increasing prices of essential goods and services. They argue that immediate relief measures are necessary to improve financial stability.
To press for the acceptance of its demands, APCA has announced a protest demonstration in Islamabad on June 2. The association has called on Govt Staff from across the country to participate in the gathering before the federal budget is presented.
Officials in Islamabad have reportedly started security arrangements ahead of the planned protest. Authorities are preparing for the expected arrival of government employees from different regions.
APCA leaders say the protest is intended to draw attention to the financial difficulties faced by public servants. They believe the upcoming budget provides an opportunity for the government to address employee concerns through meaningful reforms.
The association has expressed hope that policymakers will consider its proposals during budget discussions. APCA maintains that improving salaries and allowances would help public employees cope with economic pressures and maintain a reasonable standard of living.
