Imran Khan To Meet Selected PTI Leaders At Adiala Jail Today

Imran Khan To Meet Selected PTI Leaders At Adiala Jail Today

A closely watched meeting is scheduled today at Adiala Jail, where former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is expected to meet PTI Leaders after a long period of restricted access.

The meeting comes amid tight security arrangements inside the high-security facility. Officials have approved a limited list of party representatives who will be allowed to meet PTI Leaders during the session scheduled for 2:00 PM.

According to sources, Chaudhry Owais Younis Advocate, serving as focal person, submitted the official list of approved visitors to jail authorities. Only selected individuals have been granted permission to enter.

The approved delegation includes Seemabia Tahir, Usman Jora, Assad Abbas, Malik Yasir Patwali, Roohul Amin, Malik Azeem, and Rohail Anjum. These members are part of the small group allowed to meet PTI Leaders today under strict security protocols.

For several weeks, access to Imran Khan has remained highly restricted. Family members and senior party figures were reportedly unable to meet PTI Leaders, increasing political tensions within the party.

Earlier, even senior political figures, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Imran Khanโ€™s sister, were denied access to him. These restrictions led to further frustration among party members.

Following repeated denial of meetings, political tensions escalated further. The KP chief minister also warned of a possible sit-in protest outside the National Assembly on June 10.

Todayโ€™s meeting is being seen as significant, as party members are finally being allowed to meet PTI Leaders in a controlled and limited setting. However, the scope of interaction remains restricted due to security concerns.

Imran Khanโ€™s legal situation has continued to evolve since his imprisonment. In August 2023, he was sentenced to three years in prison in a case related to undeclared state gifts. Later, in January 2024, he received a 10-year sentence in a state secrets case.

He also received a 14-year conviction in a corruption case, followed by another 14-year sentence in January 2025. These ongoing legal challenges have intensified political uncertainty surrounding his future.

Despite these developments, todayโ€™s meeting is expected to provide an opportunity for selected members to finally meet PTI Leaders and discuss internal party matters under strict conditions at Adiala Jail.
