According to reports, 36-year-old Morris Ashley developed a friendship with 21-year-old Kaif-ul-Wora through social media. Over time, their online connection grew into a romantic relationship. The couple met in Pasrur, where their relationship eventually led to marriage. Before the wedding ceremony, Ashley embraced Islam and adopted the Islamic name Khadija. Speaking after her conversion, she said that she accepted Islam willingly and without any pressure from anyone.
Following her conversion, the marriage ceremony was held according to Islamic traditions. The couple fixed the haq mehr, or dower, at US$2,000. Family members and relatives reportedly attended the ceremony.

Reports stated that Zainab originally belonged to Ludhiana in India’s Punjab region. She later traveled to Pakistan and completed the marriage process after accepting Islam. She was issued a single-entry visa for her visit to the country.
