The Punjab Health and Population Department has decided to hire Social Media Influencers to promote family planning across the province.
The department plans to launch a large digital campaign on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
Officials have allocated Rs. 565 million for the campaign in the next financial year. The project aims to spread awareness about family planning and population management.
Under this initiative, Social Media Influencers and public opinion leaders will create digital content to educate the public. The focus will be on balanced population growth and responsible family planning practices.
Government officials believe that Social Media Influencers can help deliver important messages to a larger audience. They especially want to reach young people and married couples through digital platforms.
The campaign will also work to change public attitudes about family planning. Authorities believe social media can play an important role in shaping public opinion.
As part of the strategy, the government will involve content creators, online personalities, and social leaders. These individuals will help spread awareness in a more engaging way.
According to official budget documents, the Punjab government has already spent Rs. 182.7 million on this project so far.
For the financial year 2027-28, authorities have proposed an additional Rs. 31.6 million to continue the program.
Officials say the use of Social Media Influencers is part of a broader effort to modernize public health communication. The goal is to make family planning information easier to understand and more accessible.
Through this campaign, digital creators will share educational content about family planning services. They will also encourage families to make informed decisions.
