Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to travel to Iran in the coming days. PM Shehbaz Sharif is likely to attend the funeral ceremonies of Iran’s late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
According to official sources, the visit will include a high-level delegation from Pakistan. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi are also expected to join the trip.

The public farewell ceremony will be held in Tehran’s Mosalla for two days. After that, a funeral procession is planned in Qom on July 7. Separate ceremonies will also take place in Najaf and Karbala on July 8.
Officials said several members of Khamenei’s family and close associates will also be honored during the funeral processions.
Sources added that PM Shehbaz Sharif attending the event would show Pakistan’s diplomatic support and respect for Iran during the mourning period. Reports suggest Pakistan plans to maintain strong regional ties through this visit.
Ayatollah Khamenei reportedly died in a joint US-Israeli military strike on February 28. More than four months later, Iranian authorities have now officially confirmed the timeline for his funeral and burial.
