Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has officially announced its candidates for the 2026 Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections. The party has fielded nominees in 35 constituencies across different regions of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the official list, the PPP has selected candidates for constituencies in Mirpur, Bhimber, Kotli, Bagh, Sudhnoti, Poonch, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Jammu refugee seats, and Valley refugee constituencies.
In the Mirpur Division, the party awarded election tickets to Afsar Shahid for LA-1 Mirpur-I, Qasim Majeed for LA-2 Mirpur-II/Chakswari, Yasser Sultan for LA-3 Mirpur City, Chaudhry Sohaib Arshad for LA-4 Khari Sharif, and Chaudhry Pervez Ashraf for LA-5 Bhimber-I/Barnala.
For the Kotli Division, Malik Zafar has been nominated for LA-8, while Javed Iqbal Bhadhanvi will contest from LA-9. Senior leader Chaudhry Yasin has received party tickets for both LA-10 and LA-12. Chaudhry Akhlaq has been nominated for LA-11.
The PPP also announced candidates for constituencies in Bagh, Sudhnoti, and Poonch. These include Sardar Qamar Zaman, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Sardar Amjad Yousaf, Sardar Saud Sadiq, Sardar Yaqoob, Sardar Muhammad Abid Khan, and Sardar Faheem Akhtar Rabbani.
For Neelum Valley and Muzaffarabad, the party nominated Mian Abdul Waheed, Sardar Javed Ayub, Syed Bazil Naqvi, Sardar Mukhtar Ahmed Khan, Mubashir Munir Awan, Ashfaq Zafar, and Dewan Ali Chughtai to contest the upcoming elections.
The party also finalized its candidates for the Jammu refugee constituencies. The nominees include retired Colonel Qadeer Chauhan, Chaudhry Asif Gujar, Chaudhry Ahsan Ismail Gujar, Shaheen Kausar Dar, Raja Shahid Iqbal Advocate, and Chaudhry Fakhar Zaman.
For the Valley refugee seats, the party selected Amir Abdul Ghaffar Lone, Ghulam Abbas Mir, Javed Butt, Muhammad Rashid Islam Butt, and Abdul Majeed Khan as its official candidates.
Following the announcement, the party leadership instructed all candidates to immediately begin their election campaigns. Leaders expressed confidence that the PPP would perform strongly in the upcoming AJK elections with the support of voters across the region.
