A new case has been registered in Lahore against retired police officer Rana Akram, the former husband of Anmol Pinky, in a high-profile investigation linked to serious criminal allegations.
The First Information Report (FIR) was filed on the complaint of Yasmeen Tabassum. The case was registered after an inquiry ordered by the City Capital Police Officer (CCPO), which reportedly found Rana Akram responsible.
According to the FIR, Rana Akram entered the complainant’s house in July 2024 along with more than 10 police personnel. The complaint states that the group allegedly forced their way inside without permission.
The FIR further claims that Rana Akram and the accompanying officers assaulted the complainant’s husband during the incident.
The complainant also alleged that jewellery worth Rs55 million, local and foreign currency, and other valuables were taken from the house.
In addition, the family claimed that their vehicle was also taken away during the operation.
The FIR states that the suspects later implicated the complainant’s husband in a false criminal case and took him into custody.
Police officials confirmed that Rana Akram has now retired from service. They said an investigation into the allegations is ongoing.
The case has attracted attention because of its connection to Anmol Pinky, who has remained under investigation in a major drug-related case.
Reports suggest that Anmol Pinky entered into a second marriage with Rana Akram in Lahore.
Authorities claim the officer bought two bungalows using money allegedly provided by her. This detail has increased scrutiny over the relationship and possible protection networks.
During questioning, Anmol Pinky reportedly told investigators that an official named Ahsan once detained her brother and later demanded money.
She claimed she first paid Rs50 million and then continued monthly payments between Rs2.5 million and Rs3 million.
Investigators also said that Anmol Pinky had earlier been arrested in Lahore, where she first met the police officer she later married.
Police sources further allege that her first husband, who lives in Malaysia, taught her how to manufacture cocaine.
