NADRA Mega Centre has been opened in Karachi’s Surjani area to improve identity registration and documentation services for local residents. The facility was inaugurated by Sindh Governor Syed Nihal Hashmi and is expected to provide faster and more convenient services.
According to NADRA officials, the new Mega Centre has been designed to meet the growing demand for registration and identity-related services in Surjani and nearby areas. The project aims to reduce waiting times and improve access for millions of citizens.
The newly built centre includes 20 one-window service counters. These counters will provide a wide range of NADRA services under one roof. Citizens will be able to complete multiple registration and documentation tasks without visiting different offices.
To make the facility more accessible, special service counters have been established for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. Officials said these dedicated counters will help vulnerable groups receive services more comfortably and without unnecessary delays.
The Mega Centre also includes a large waiting area. The seating space can accommodate up to 200 people at one time, making it easier for visitors to wait in a comfortable environment while their applications are processed.
Officials said the new centre has the capacity to serve more than 2,000 applicants within a 24-hour period. The facility will operate with the goal of providing quicker and more efficient public services.
The establishment of the Mega Centre is expected to benefit millions of people living in Surjani and surrounding neighbourhoods. Residents will now have easier access to identity cards, family registration certificates, and other important documentation services closer to their homes.
A key feature of the project is the inclusion of a zonal office inside the same building. This addition will save citizens valuable time by reducing the need to travel to the Ayesha Manzil office for related administrative work.
Officials believe the new centre will reduce pressure on other NADRA offices across Karachi. It is also expected to improve the overall experience for applicants by offering more organized and efficient services.
The opening of the Surjani Mega Centre reflects ongoing efforts to expand public service infrastructure in growing urban areas. With modern facilities, dedicated service counters, and high daily processing capacity, the centre is expected to play an important role in serving Karachi’s expanding population.
