Balochistan Announces Summer Vacations for Schools

QUETTA โ€“ The Balochistan School Education Department has announced summer vacations for government and private schools located in the province’s cold regions. The decision has been made to provide students and teachers with a short seasonal break before academic activities resume next month.

According to an official notification issued by the Secretary of School Education, schools in the cold areas will remain closed from July 18 to August 2. The department said the schedule applies to both public and private educational institutions operating in these regions.

The notification also confirmed that classes in both the cold and warm areas of Balochistan will restart on August 3. Officials said all schools are expected to reopen on the same date after the end of the summer vacations.

The School Education Department has instructed divisional directors, district education officers, school principals, and other concerned authorities to ensure full compliance with the announced schedule. Officials have also been asked to complete all necessary arrangements before students return to classrooms.

The department emphasized that schools should be fully prepared for the timely resumption of academic activities. Administrators have been directed to ensure that teaching staff and school facilities are ready before classes begin again.

In addition, the education department advised parents, teachers, and students to organize their academic plans according to the holiday schedule. Officials said proper planning during the summer vacations would help ensure a smooth and well-organized start to the remaining academic session.

The announcement provides clarity for thousands of families across the province. Parents can now plan their children’s study schedules and holiday activities while schools prepare for reopening.

Meanwhile, attention has also remained focused on school safety following a recent incident in Lahore. Earlier this week, a child lost his life after the roof of a school building collapsed during a summer camp in the Baghbanpura area.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, the accident occurred while renovation work was underway at the school. Several children were present on the premises when part of the roof suddenly collapsed.

Emergency rescue teams and police quickly reached the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital. Eight-year-old Abu Bakar later died from his injuries despite medical treatment.

Officials identified the injured workers as Khizar, 35, Shakeel, 38, Abdul Latif, 32, and Nazeer, 42. Authorities confirmed that other children present during the incident were safely rescued.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the roof collapse and whether safety procedures were followed during the renovation work.
