Hrithik Roshan Supports Sonam Wangchuk During Hunger Strike

Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has extended his support to educator, innovator, and activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on a hunger strike in New Delhi. Wangchuk has now completed 21 days of his protest over the alleged NEET exam paper leak and other education-related concerns.

Hrithik Roshan shared his support through his official Instagram account. He reposted a video of Sonam Wangchuk that was originally shared by actor Lisa Ray.

In the video, Wangchuk questioned why many people remained silent over the alleged exam paper leaks. He also referred to reports claiming that 20 students took their own lives following the controversy.

While resharing the video, Hrithik Roshan expressed agreement with Wangchuk’s views. He wrote that the concerns raised in the video sounded true.

The actor also recalled his experience of playing a teacher in the film Super 30. The movie was based on the life of mathematician and educator Anand Kumar. Hrithik Roshan said the role helped him understand the emotional challenges faced by students.

Several other well-known personalities have also expressed support for Wangchuk during his protest. Celebrities including Zeenat Aman, Soni Razdan, Swara Bhasker, Abhay Deol, Prakash Raj, and Omi Vaidya have publicly backed the activist.

Actor Sonakshi Sinha also spoke in support of Wangchuk. She said she could no longer remain silent and believed speaking about important issues should not automatically be seen as being “anti-national.”

Sonakshi praised Wangchuk for his work in education and his contributions to the country. She said he had earned respect through his achievements and public service.

She also highlighted that Wangchuk had continued his hunger strike despite serious health concerns. According to her, he was protesting because he believed the future of students was at risk.

Following her statement, actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha expressed pride in his daughter for raising her voice. He praised her decision to support Wangchuk during the protest.

On July 18, Sonam Wangchuk was taken to Safdarjung Hospital in South Delhi by Delhi Police. The move came after directions from the Delhi High Court due to concerns about his worsening health.

According to reports, Wangchuk’s health declined after spending more than three weeks on hunger strike. Medical attention was provided as a precautionary measure.

The activist is demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. His protest is linked to the alleged NEET examination paper leak and concerns about transparency in the education system.

The issue has sparked public debate and drawn support from several actors, activists, and public figures across India. Many have called for greater accountability and reforms in the examination process.
