Two Women Suicide Bombers Held as Pak Forces Continue Balochistan Operations

QUETTA: Pakistani security forces have intensified counterterrorism operations in Balochistan, killing 10 militants and arresting two alleged Suicide Bombers during intelligence-based operations, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military said the operations were conducted in the districts of Surab and Mastung. The coordinated raids targeted militant networks that the military identifies as Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij. ISPR alleged that these groups receive support from India.

According to the military, security forces launched the operations after receiving intelligence about militant activity in the two districts. The operations were aimed at disrupting militant networks and preventing future terrorist attacks.

In Surab, security personnel targeted suspected militant hideouts. During the operation, seven militants were killed after an exchange of fire. The military said the operation successfully destroyed several militant positions in the area.

A separate intelligence-based operation was later carried out in Mastung. During that raid, three more militants were killed, bringing the total number of militants eliminated to 10.

The Mastung operation also resulted in the arrest of two alleged Suicide Bombers. According to ISPR, both women were taken into custody alive before they could allegedly carry out any planned attack.

Security forces also arrested a person identified as the alleged facilitator of the two women. Officials said the arrests helped prevent a possible terrorist incident. However, authorities did not provide further details about the suspected target or timing of the alleged plan.

During the operations, security personnel recovered a large quantity of weapons and explosives. According to ISPR, the seized items included ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Officials said the recovery dealt another blow to the militant infrastructure operating in the province.

Following the raids, security forces launched sanitisation operations across the affected areas. The military said these activities are continuing to ensure that no remaining militants or support networks remain active.

ISPR stated that the operations are part of Pakistan’s broader counterterrorism strategy. The military said the campaign is being carried out under the National Action Plan and the Azm-e-Istehkam strategy.

According to the military, security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eliminating militancy across the country. Officials said operations will continue wherever intelligence identifies threats to national security.

The arrest of the alleged Suicide Bombers and the killing of 10 militants mark another major operation in Balochistan’s ongoing counterterrorism campaign. Authorities said efforts will continue to dismantle militant networks and strengthen security across the province.
