Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced that Lahore will host Basant again in 2027. The announcement follows the successful return of the festival in 2026.
According to the chief minister, Basant 2027 will be held in Lahore from March 12 to March 14. The three-day event will feature cultural activities, music, colors, and public celebrations.
Maryam Nawaz said Lahore would once again welcome people for the popular seasonal festival. She described the event as an opportunity to celebrate Punjab’s culture and traditions.
The chief minister also invited young people from Punjab to join the celebrations. She encouraged young visitors from other parts of Pakistan to attend the event.
She said the festival would provide an opportunity for people to enjoy Lahore’s cultural atmosphere. Visitors will also be able to experience the city’s hospitality during the celebrations.
Maryam Nawaz extended the invitation to overseas Pakistanis as well. She also welcomed international visitors interested in experiencing Lahore’s cultural festivities.
The announcement comes after Punjab allowed Basant celebrations to return in 2026. The festival attracted attention after a long period without large-scale celebrations in Lahore.
The provincial government is expected to focus on organized activities for the upcoming event. Public participation will remain an important part of the celebrations.
