Rawalpindi Weather: Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Forecast Across Twin Cities

Rawalpindi Weather Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Forecast Across Twin Cities

The latest Rawalpindi Weather forecast indicates another spell of rain and thunderstorms across the twin cities. Islamabad and Rawalpindi remain at risk of urban flooding in vulnerable areas.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent rain and thunderstorms across Islamabad, Rawalpindi and the Potohar region. Upper Punjab, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan may also receive rainfall.

Several areas could experience isolated heavy rainfall during the spell. Such downpours may cause water to accumulate on roads. Low-lying neighbourhoods could also face temporary flooding.

The situation remains serious in Rawalpindi because of rising water levels in Nullah Lai. Flood-warning sirens were sounded after heavy rain pushed water levels above critical levels. The water level later declined as rainfall eased.

Recent rainfall has already disrupted daily life in several parts of the city. Roads in Pirwadhai, Sadiqabad and Muslim Town were affected by accumulated rainwater. Some homes and vehicles were also affected by flooding.

The Rawalpindi Weather outlook for Thursday includes cloudy conditions, rain and possible thunderstorms. Temperatures are expected to remain around 31ยฐC during the day. Humid conditions are also likely.

The forecast shows that unsettled conditions may continue through Friday and the weekend. Thunderstorms could occur during the morning hours, followed by partly sunny conditions.

Punjab is also facing a widespread rain threat. Rain, strong winds and thunderstorms are expected across several northern and central districts. Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock and Chakwal are among the areas facing rainfall.

Other affected districts could include Gujrat, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin. Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura and Okara may also receive rain.

Sargodha, Khushab, Chiniot and Faisalabad could experience thunderstorms during the evening and night. Other parts of Punjab may remain hot and humid.

The weather system is also affecting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera and Peshawar are expected to receive rain and thunderstorms. Abbottabad and Haripur may also experience heavy rainfall.

Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to remain wet during the ongoing spell. Mountainous areas face additional risks from intense rainfall. Landslides may occur in vulnerable hilly locations.

Authorities are closely monitoring drainage systems and vulnerable waterways. Residents in low-lying areas should remain alert during intense rainfall.

Motorists should drive carefully on wet roads and avoid unnecessary travel during severe thunderstorms. People travelling through hilly routes should also remain cautious.
