ISLAMABAD: Major General Faisal Naseer has been appointed as the National Coordinator of NACTA for three years.
The appointment was approved by the federal government, according to an official notification. The Establishment Division issued the notification on Friday.
Naseer will serve as the National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA). His appointment has been made under Section 9(1) of the NACTA Act, 2013.
The notification stated that the appointment will be on a three-year secondment basis. It will follow the standard terms and conditions applicable to the position.
Faisal Naseer Gets Three-Year Appointment
The appointment has taken effect immediately, according to the Establishment Division. Naseer will continue in the position until further orders.
His new role places him at the national counterterrorism authority. NACTA works with relevant institutions on counterterrorism coordination and related matters.
The government’s decision comes under the legal framework established through the NACTA Act, 2013. The notification formally confirms Naseer’s appointment for the specified period.
Major General Faisal Naseer is also a recipient of major national awards. He holds the Hilal-i-Imtiaz and Tamgha-i-Basalat.
These awards recognize his services and contributions. His appointment adds another senior responsibility to his career in public service.
Notification Sent to Relevant Authorities
The Establishment Division circulated copies of the notification to several government offices. These included the Prime Minister’s Office and President’s Secretariat.
Copies were also sent to the Cabinet Division and Interior Division. Provincial chief secretaries were also informed about the appointment.
Other relevant authorities also received copies of the official notification. The circulation ensures that government departments are informed about the new appointment.
The National Coordinator position is important for coordinating counterterrorism efforts. NACTA serves as a key institution in Pakistan’s national counterterrorism framework.
Naseer will now assume responsibilities under the authority’s established legal and administrative structure. His appointment will remain effective for three years under the approved terms.
The notification did not provide further details about changes to NACTA’s existing operations. The appointment has been made with immediate effect.
