GCU Lahore student and Falcon Triathlon Club member, Faizan Ahmed Faiz, has completed an extraordinary 1,100-kilometre running journey from Lahore to Skardu in 22 days.
Faizan reached Skardu on September 17, completing an endurance challenge that started from the historic Clock Tower of Government College University Lahore. The journey covered different landscapes, including Punjabās plains, mountain routes, and challenging northern areas.
Faizan is a third-semester Psychology student at GCU Lahore. He has been involved in running for around eight years and has previously completed an 800-kilometre running challenge.
Challenging Route From Lahore to Skardu
During his journey, Faizan passed through several cities and regions. His route included Gujranwala, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Abbottabad, Naran, Babusar Top, Chilas, and Raikot before reaching Skardu.
The 1,100-kilometre run involved difficult climbs, changing weather conditions, and challenging terrain across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
When the challenge began in August, the university said Faizan planned to cover between 60 and 100 kilometres daily. He also aimed to achieve a significant milestone in long-distance running.
The GCU administration described the journey as an effort to promote fitness, endurance, and social responsibility among young people.
Tribute and Awareness Message
Along with the sporting achievement, Faizan dedicated his journey to Pakistanās armed forces and police martyrs. He paid tribute to those who lost their lives while serving the country.
During the 22-day challenge, he also promoted an anti-drug awareness message. He encouraged young people to avoid substance abuse and focus on healthier lifestyles.
Faizan interacted with communities during stops along the route and shared messages about fitness and positive choices.
The completion of the Lahore-to-Skardu run has brought attention to his endurance achievement. The journey combined sports, awareness, and a message of social responsibility.
