Zong recorded Pakistan’s fastest national 4G download and upload speeds during the second quarter of 2026. The results were published in the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s latest Mobile Network Experience Benchmarking Report.
The report was based on independent measurements collected by Opensignal over 90 days. It covered Jazz, Telenor, Ufone and Zong across Pakistan and 20 cities.
The assessment measured several aspects of the Mobile Network experience. These included download speed, upload speed, video experience, gaming experience and time on network.
For national 4G download speeds, Zong recorded an average of 18.55 Mbps. Jazz followed with 17.61 Mbps, while Ufone recorded 12.82 Mbps. Telenor posted an average speed of 7.5 Mbps.
Zong also recorded the highest national 4G upload speed. Its average upload speed reached 7.81 Mbps. Jazz followed with 6.26 Mbps, while Ufone recorded 4.42 Mbps. Telenor had an average upload speed of 2.82 Mbps.
Zong also led the video experience category with 41.66 points. Jazz followed closely with 41.51 points. Ufone led the games experience category with 50.08 points.
Zong recorded a games experience score of 47.28 points. It also achieved the highest time on network score among the four operators.
The company recorded a time on network score of 96.59 percent. Jazz followed at 93.33 percent, while Telenor and Ufone recorded 92.58 percent and 92.16 percent.
Across all operators, the national average 4G download speed was 18.9 Mbps. The average increased to 31.3 Mbps on high-end smartphones.
The national average 4G upload speed stood at 5.32 Mbps. Video experience reached 37.53 points, while games experience stood at 43.85 points.
Users remained connected to a Mobile Network for an average of 93.67 percent of the measured time. PTA said the figures were based on real user experiences.
The report also included 5G performance measurements. However, PTA said 5G deployment remained at an early stage.
The authority noted that limited coverage and a small user base affected the 5G data. Therefore, the results should be considered indicative rather than conclusive.
Performance also differed across individual cities. Zong led all five categories in Lahore and Multan. Jazz led download and video experience in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
In Karachi, Zong recorded the highest download and upload speeds. It also led the time on network category. Jazz topped video experience, while Ufone led gaming.
Zong also led all five categories in Gujranwala and Sialkot. Hyderabad showed a closer competition between Zong and Jazz.
In Hyderabad, Jazz recorded a download speed of 18.54 Mbps. Zong followed closely with 18.46 Mbps.
Zong also recorded the fastest download speeds in Mirpur, Skardu and Muzaffarabad. The respective speeds were 19.06 Mbps, 14.76 Mbps and 14.7 Mbps.
PTA said the measurements came from real smartphone users. Data was collected from indoor and outdoor locations during different periods.

The authority also noted differences between this methodology and its controlled quality-of-service surveys. Results from the two methods may therefore vary.
