QUETTA/PESHAWAR: Security forces killed at least 11 terrorists during intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
According to security sources, the operations targeted militants linked with Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khwarij. The operations were conducted in separate areas of the two provinces.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in mountainous areas of South Waziristan.
Five terrorists linked with Fitna al-Khwarij were killed during the operation. Security forces also targeted and destroyed militant hideouts.
A significant quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the militants, according to security sources.
The operation caused losses to the militant group and disrupted its activities in the area. Security forces continued their operations based on intelligence reports.
Six terrorists killed in Balochistan
Security forces also conducted an operation against Fitna al-Hindustan in Balochistan.
The operation was carried out in the remote Gorander area near Mashkel. Six terrorists were killed during the operation, according to security sources.
Sources said militants opened fire on a security check post in Mashkel. Security forces responded and pursued the terrorists as they attempted to escape.
The forces subsequently killed the six militants during the operation. Details about the identities of the killed terrorists were not immediately disclosed.
The latest operations bring the total number of 11 terrorists killed in the reported operations in KP and Balochistan.
Security sources said the operations were part of ongoing efforts against militant groups across the country.
The operations in Balochistan were conducted under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3. Security forces have continued intelligence-based actions against militant networks.
The sources said security forces remain committed to countering terrorism under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework.
Earlier, on October 2, security forces killed seven more terrorists in North Waziristan.
That intelligence-based operation was conducted in the Eidak area of North Waziristan. Security forces also targeted and destroyed a militant hideout during the operation.
According to security sources, the operation affected the militants’ operational capabilities in the area.

The latest actions reflect continued security operations against militant groups in different parts of the country. Authorities have maintained that such operations will continue based on intelligence and security requirements.
