Many Pakistanis living and working abroad regularly send money to support their families. These transfers help households cover daily expenses, education costs and other financial needs.
Remittances also contribute to Pakistan’s foreign exchange inflows. They provide an important source of funds for the country’s economy.
UK and US Also Contribute to Remittances
The United Kingdom and the United States also remained important sources of remittances during September.
Pakistani citizens living in the UK sent $515 million to Pakistan during the month. Meanwhile, remittances from the United States reached $305.9 million.

The latest figures indicate an increase of $1.34 billion over the year. This growth came despite the monthly decline recorded in September compared with August.
Monthly Decline Despite Annual Growth
Although remittances increased on a yearly basis, September recorded a slight decrease compared with the previous month.
