ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has reported a net profit of Rs 2.96 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, reversing a loss recorded during the same period last year.
According to the company’s financial statements submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), PTCL’s revenue reached Rs 97.26 billion during the first nine months of 2026, compared with Rs 89.60 billion in the corresponding period of 2025.
The company’s operating profit, however, declined to Rs 10.92 billion from Rs 12.91 billion a year earlier. The financial results were approved at a meeting of PTCL’s Board of Directors in Islamabad on October 22, 2026.
The company did not recommend a cash dividend, bonus shares or right shares for the period.
PTCL Financial Results for January to September 2026
PTCL’s consolidated financial statements show an improvement in its overall bottom line despite lower operating profit.
The company recorded a profit before tax of Rs 3.18 billion for the nine-month period, compared with a loss before tax of approximately Rs 198 million in the same period last year.
Net profit reached Rs 2.96 billion, against a net loss of Rs 1.22 billion in the corresponding period of 2025.
Revenue increased by around 8.6% year-on-year. At the same time, operating profit fell by approximately 15.4%, reflecting continued pressure on operating performance.
The financial statements also recorded higher other income during the reporting period, contributing to the improvement in the overall result.
Third-Quarter Revenue Increases
For the quarter ended September 30, 2026, PTCL reported revenue of Rs 33.51 billion, up from Rs 30.68 billion in the same quarter last year.
Gross profit declined to Rs 7.90 billion from Rs 9.39 billion, while operating profit fell to Rs 2.38 billion from Rs 5.06 billion.
The company recorded a net loss of approximately Rs 671 million for the third quarter, compared with a net profit of Rs 2.05 billion in the corresponding quarter of 2025.
These figures show that higher quarterly revenue did not translate into stronger operating profit during the period.
Broadband and Telecom Services Remain Important
PTCL operates telecommunications and connectivity services across Pakistan, including broadband, enterprise solutions and wholesale services. Its subsidiary businesses also form part of the company’s wider operations.
The company has been expanding its fibre broadband offering through Flash Fiber and developing services for business customers. Demand for reliable internet connectivity, cloud services and digital infrastructure remains important for telecom operators serving Pakistan’s consumer and corporate markets.
PTCL’s recent business developments have also included the integration of Ufone and Telenor Pakistan under Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML). However, changes in the group’s structure should be considered when comparing financial results across reporting periods.
What the Results Mean
PTCL’s nine-month results show a return to consolidated profitability alongside moderate revenue growth. However, the decline in operating profit and the third-quarter net loss indicate that its financial performance remains mixed.
Future results will depend on revenue growth, operating costs, the performance of its business segments and the progress of its telecom integration plans.
