A senior lawyer, Raja Irshad, who previously represented intelligence agencies in missing persons cases, has filed a petition with the Supreme Court of Pakistan under Article 184 (3) of the Constitution.
In the petition, he seeks to interpret the oath of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and determine the COAS’s role in the state’s affairs. Raja Irshad argues that Article 184 (3) allows for the consideration of questions of great public importance related to the enforcement of fundamental rights.

He asserts that the constitution’s fundamental rights are essential for the honorable and civilized lives of the people of Pakistan. The petitioner requests the court to declare that Pakistan is facing chaotic conditions and anarchy due to a lack of constitutional governance.
Additionally, he calls for an interpretation of the COAS’s oath and seeks orders to ensure constitutional governance in the country.
