In the midst of political tensions and accusations from opponents, Marriyum Aurangzeb, the Information Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), stated in a press conference that their political rivals can foresee Nawaz Sharif becoming the prime minister after the upcoming February 8 elections. She emphasized that the PML-N’s manifesto aims to provide relief to the people and called for a focus on national interests over personal agendas.
Addressing a recent statement by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari on elections, Marriyum described it as “encouraging.” Zardari had expressed confidence in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to ensure fair and transparent conduct of the elections, stating that the country was moving towards transparent elections.

Marriyum also highlighted the recent acquittal of PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif in the Ashiana-i-Iqbal Housing Scheme reference by a Lahore accountability court. She claimed that Shehbaz’s loyalty to his brother, Nawaz Sharif, was evident and dismissed accusations of corruption against him.
