PTI Rules Out Coalition Government with PPP and PML-N

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) reiterated on Friday that it is poised to form the government at the Centre and dismissed the possibility of forming an alliance with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Barrister Gohar, speaking to Geo News, stated that the PTI is not engaged in discussions with either the PPP or the PML-N. He confidently asserted that the PTI is on track to secure 150 National Assembly seats, sufficient to establish a government at the federal level.

“We have no intention of forming a coalition government with the PPP and PML-N,” Barrister Gohar Ali Khan emphasized, adding that the PTI aims to govern both at the federal level and in Punjab.

He indicated that the PTI is leading in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is poised to form the government in that province as well. Furthermore, he assured that independent candidates affiliated with the PTI would adhere to party directives and not engage in any potential horse trading.

Barrister Gohar’s statement comes in response to claims made by PML-N senior leader Ishaq Dar, who suggested that independent candidates, likely to emerge victorious in the 2024 general elections, have been in contact with the party.

Dar mentioned that these independent candidates have expressed their willingness to join any party within the next 72 hours as per constitutional provisions. He clarified that the PML-N cannot coerce anyone into joining the party but affirmed that they are open to candidates who wish to align with their party.
