Foreign Players of Karachi Kings Out of Quetta Gladiators Clash Due to Food Poisoning

Ahead of the match against Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing Pakistan Super League 9 season at the Karachi National Bank Arena, Karachi Kings will be without three of their players due to food poisoning.

South African duo Tabraiz Shamsi and Leus Du Plooy, along with Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams, have been ruled out of the match against the in-form Quetta Gladiators due to severe stomach aches and abdominal pain caused by food poisoning. These players experienced discomfort since the previous night and were visibly affected during their last match against Islamabad United.

Both Tabraiz Shamsi and Leus Du Plooy were part of the playing XI in Karachi Kings’ recent defeat against Islamabad United, which adds to the challenge of replacing them against Quetta Gladiators.

To compensate for their absence, it is speculated that wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Akhlaq may be included in the lineup as a replacement, while local leg spinner Zahid Mehmood could potentially fill in for Shamsi.

For the PSL match to proceed as scheduled, a squad of 13 players is required, and sources have confirmed that two foreign players will participate in the match. Several members of the Karachi Kings squad have been taken to local hospitals for prompt treatment.

With this unexpected setback, Shan Masood, the team’s captain, faces a significant selection dilemma ahead of a crucial match that could impact Karachi Kings’ inconsistent PSL season. Having won twice and lost twice in their first four games, finding the right combinations will be crucial for Karachi Kings to secure their next victory.

In T20 cricket, success often hinges on assembling the most effective team, and now the Karachi Kings’ management must rally the group to secure a much-needed win.
