In a concerted effort to address the country’s power crisis and revitalize its economy, the government, in collaboration with military leadership, has launched an aggressive crackdown on electricity theft. Recent figures released by authorities reveal significant progress in curbing this illegal practice, with over 91 billion rupees recovered from offenders nationwide and more than 69 thousand individuals apprehended.
From April 28 to May 5, authorities intensified their operations in key cities such as Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, and Islamabad, resulting in the recovery of 0.13 billion rupees from electricity thieves. Additionally, in regions including Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Quetta, and recently annexed areas, a substantial sum of 0.272 billion rupees was collected.

The diligent efforts of concerned agencies led to the arrest of 21 electricity thieves across the country, highlighting a steadfast commitment to rooting out this issue from every corner. With an unwavering resolve, authorities have pledged to continue their operations until electricity theft is eradicated nationwide. This commendable initiative not only represents a significant step towards stabilizing the country’s energy sector but also underscores the government’s commitment to promoting accountability and economic prosperity for all citizens.
