On Tuesday, PTI announced the appointment of prominent fashion designer Khadija Shah as the national lead for strategic communications and outreach within its Election Analysis and Management Cell (EAMC). The announcement, shared on social media platform X, was officially dated August 2.
Khadija Shah gained attention last year due to her arrest following the May 9 riots, facing charges of vandalism and rioting.

She was granted bail in December 2023, though new warrants were issued against her in April 2024 related to another case from the same riots.
Last month, Khadija announced her decision to renounce her US citizenship to accept a reserved National Assembly seat for women offered by former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
PTI’s notification confirmed her new role, with Salman Amjad, head of PTI’s EAMC, appointing her as the national lead for strategic communications and outreach.
