Pakistan has invited India’s Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal, to visit for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Trade Ministers’ Meeting, as reported by sources. The invitation was formally sent via diplomatic channels.
The SCO Trade Ministers’ Meeting is set to take place in Islamabad on September 12, where trade and economic cooperation among SCO member countries will be discussed.

The outcomes of these discussions will be presented at the SCO government summit, scheduled for October 15-16 in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had previously invited all SCO member state heads of government, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following SCO protocols.
However, Indian media reports suggest that Modi might not attend the summit.
