Despite the college administration and the Punjab government denying any assault occurred, the young woman’s parents also dismissed the claims, leading to confusion and heightened emotions.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz rejected the allegations of a rape incident involving a student at the Lahore college, claiming the accusations are false. An investigation determined that the girl had been hospitalized due to a fall before the allegations arose.
The CM criticized the protests, accusing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party of orchestrating a misleading campaign, especially during the SCO summit. She vowed to take action against those spreading misinformation, asserting that the girl had become a victim of political manipulation.
On Wednesday, all government and private colleges in Gujrat city were closed in response to the protests, with the district commissioner issuing a notification stating that educational institutions will remain closed from October 17 to October 19.
