A disturbing case of child abuse has come to light in Kohat, where a man was arrested for repeatedly assaulting his teenage granddaughter. The victim, an orphan, mustered the courage to report the crime to the police on October 14.
According to the complaint, the grandfather had been exploiting the girl for five months, threatening her to keep quiet. The horrific truth came to light when the victim became pregnant, leading her family to discover the situation. With the support of her maternal uncle, she decided to report the crime.

The police registered a case under Pakistan’s laws for rape and punishment for abortion. The accused was arrested, and the victim was taken to KDA Teaching Hospital for a medical examination, which confirmed the assault.
The victim, who has three sisters and a brother, felt alone in her struggle but found the strength to speak out. Her bravery has led to the perpetrator’s arrest, and authorities are taking steps to ensure justice is served.
