Mike York, former Rockstar Games developer, recently shed light on the fan theories surrounding GTA 6’s second trailer. In a YouTube video, York explained that Rockstar intentionally fosters secrecy to build anticipation, letting speculation thrive within the fan community.

He referenced the “moon phase theory” that linked the release of the first trailer with GTA Online’s Moon Festival, highlighting how fan-driven theories fuel excitement. Despite many theories leading to dead ends, York sees them as part of the fun as fans eagerly await the 2025 release.
